Under the (NBA) Radar

 Greetings Earthlings!

Let us discuss NBA players who are having fantastic seasons yet are hardily heard about. These players have exceeded expectations that were put on them in the beginning of the season. Whether it was due to an injured starter, playing on a non-playoff team or the system they are playing in, all of these players have played well enough for me to notice them on fantasy basketball and to write about them:

1. Deni Avdija

Deni was lost in the losing sauce of D.C. Playing in the shadow of Bradley Beal alongside a broken system with players in and out of the lineup, Deni has finally found an appropriate landing spot to show case his abilities in Portland. A young team looking for foundational players has (hopefully) found one in D.A as he has been able to produce robust numbers given the playing time. Shaedon Sharpe was another considered for this list but his upside + his production last year hasn't made this season surprising for basketball enthusiasts.

2. Amen Thompson

We all knew that one of the twins was bound to make some sort of contribution to their respective teams within their first year or two. For Ausar, it has taken a bit longer due to the rise of Cade and company up in Detroit, but his brother on the other hand, whew, he jumps out the gym. Amen has made strides in his scoring, rebounding and court awareness. His increased usage and defensive prowess has helped Houston make the playoffs. Efficiency has been key to Amen, as he isn't like most lottery picks who are expected to score at a high clip.

3. Toumani Camara

First year rookie out of Dayton, Camara has shown promising versatility on the defensive end. Standing at 6 ft 7 in and 230lbs, he is physically equipped to be quick on switches and for contesting shots. The Blazers have a number of versatile wings, but with Toumani's age and defensive abilities, you hope the Blazers spend the necessary resources to develop him.
4. Trey Murphy
This one is a bit of a stretch because Trey has shown potential in previous years but due to injury and the pelicans being...the pelicans, he hasn't had much of a stage to show off his offensive skills. Given there have been a slew of injuries for the Pelicans, Trey has been given the green light to shoot that thang and to facilitate the offense. He has broken the 40 clip multiple times this season and his enjoying his freedom to ball out.
